five months

Happy five months, Enora!

Here's what you are up to this month...

• This morning we found out you have your first ear infection!  You still have your cold from last month, but you've been in a great mood, no fever, and eating well until yesterday, so we took you in to the doctor and she diagnosed your ear infection. Antibiotics will start tonight. Poor baby.
• Hello feet! You're finally discovering these things and enjoy hanging on to them
• You are still not rolling over but you are getting close... You can turn to reach for things while on your back but that's as far as you go
• Tummy time is always improving but you get tired of it very quickly. 
• You have stopped needing to eat during the night! That means more sleep for mommy and daddy, although you still wake up needing your pacifier or to be comforted. 
• Napping in your swing is almost over.. I think nana and grandma are the only ones who do it now (very occasionally) but for the most part you are always sleeping in your crib
• Instead of rocking you to sleep at night/for naps we are putting you down while you are sleepy, and you actually fall asleep on your own! Yes, there are times when you cry yourself to sleep but it's not too bad. You just need to realize that you are tired and don't need to stay awake for everything.
• We started you on rice cereal after your 4 month appointment, just for evening meals for now. You were timid at first but we think you like it now, especially when it's thicker and not the same consistency as your formula. 
• You're in the same clothing sizes as last time: 3 months, 3-6, and 6 months, depending on the outfit. 3 month sizes are getting smaller, but still fit. Your socks, however, are 6-9 month size!
• You love looking at Chloe and Gryphon (our cats) and really enjoy petting them too, when they let you. Luckily they have a lot of patience and tolerance for grabby baby hands.
